We’re thrilled to have you on board! To get started on your quest to build even greater following on Instagram, you first have to download Followyst for desktop. This is how Followyst differs from other growth services – it runs on your hardware, making it the most secure and safest product on the market.

In case you don’t own an Android smartphone or don’t want to use it, check out our guide on how to configure and use Bluestacks Android emulator with Followyst. Next skip to Your first Followyst profile in this guide.

Configuring your PC or Mac

Followyst requires Java to be present on the PC or Mac it is running on. In case they are not installed, download and install Java SE for macOS or Windows. If you’re tech-savvy, consider installing latest OpenJDK for Java 1.8+ instead, as it is more lightweight.

Configuring your Android device

Followyst uses Android’s USB debug mode to automate boring parts of growing your Instagram following. To enable USB debug mode on your device you need to:
  1. Plug in your smartphone to the computer you installed Followyst on.
  2. Go to Settings application on your device.
  3. Tap on About phone or a similar looking option in the menu.
  4. Tap at least 7 times on Build number item. You should see small toasts, ending with one which says something akin to Your’e now a developer.
  5. Go back to Settings.
  6. Tap on Developer options item that is now available.
  7. Search for and enable USB debugging, Install over USB (if present) and USB debugging (Security settings) (if present). Tap on OK in the popups that appear.
  8. Unlock the device and plug it into your PC/Mac. On the device, in the Accept USB debugging dialog that appeared, select Always allow from this computer and tap on OK.
The debug mode is used only to control Instagram application on your device, nothing else. Your data and privacy are safe!

Verifying if the set up was a success

  1. Launch Followyst app on your computer in case you haven’t done so already.
  2. Log in using credentials for this website.
  3. Go to Devices.
  4. You should be able to see a device on the list with the status Connected.
  5. Rename the device to something easier for you to remember by clicking on the Edit button in the Actions column.

That’s it, you’re ready to go!

Device not visible?

In case the device does not appear on the list, try revoking USB debugging for this device. To do so:

  1. Go to Developer options on your Android device – the same you accessed previously to enable USB debugging.
  2. Tap on Revoke USB debugging authorizations and choose OK in the dialog.
  3. Reconnect your device and choose OK in the Accept USB debugging dialog on your mobile device.

Your first Followyst profile

The next step is to create a Profile inside Followyst application. Think of a Profile as a bridge to your Instagram profile. This part is easy:

  1. Launch Followyst application in case it is not running. Log in with an e-mail and password you used to access Followyst website.
  2. Click on the “+ Create profile” in the menu options on the left.
  3. Fill in the required fields and click Save. Make sure the Instagram username you provide is the same as the one you’re logged into Instagram on your smartphone. A label can be anything you want to help you distinguish between multiple profiles.

Your first activity

Now when everything has been properly configured, it’s time to start growing your Instagram following. Simply:

  1. Log in to Instagram on your smartphone you’ve set up in previous steps. Use Instagram with username provided in the Followyst profile. Make sure the screen is not locked.
  2. In Followyst, go to the profile you created in the set up steps. It should be under Profiles option in the menu on the left.
  3. Select device in the Device dropdown. It should have the label you’ve set.
  4. Add an activity by clicking “+” next to Add new activity
  5. Select desired options in the dialog. Each option shown there applies to that particular instance of activity (e.g. 80 likes/hour means “when this activity starts, it will like 80 pictures over the next hour”). Note that depending on the pricing tier you’re on, some activities or options might be unavailable or limited.
  6. When ready, click OK
  7. Click start (play button) next to the added activity. You should be able to see progress on the activity itself: current activity running and, to the right, actions performed as part of that activity. Also, you can observe those actions inside Instagram app on your device.
  8. You can add and remove activities any time you want while Followyst is performing actions on your device.
  9. PC/mac has to stay on while Followyst is running.

You can queue up as many activities as you want.

Remember to turn off USB debug mode once you’re done with your Followyst session. Turn it on again prior to starting your next session.
